“As wedding photographers based in Cheshire most of our weddings take place in Cheshire, Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside or North Wales – only about a dozen times a year do we ‘venture out of the area’ either here in the UK or abroad to photograph weddings. The wedding we photographed on Saturday was one of these occasions and we found ourselves 2 hours two hours up the M6 in The Lake District for the wedding of Rob and Debbie at The Swan Hotel in Newby Bridge.
It was a great wedding for us as Rob and Debbie had booked Northwest Photography following a recommendation from a couple we photographed last year, who themselves were at the wedding – so we had two familiar faces at the event !
The whole day was spent at The Swan Hotel – from pre-wedding until early evening, so once the car was parked in the hotel car-park we could leave it there and get on with the job.
The hotel itself was badly damaged during the recent floods and this was the first wedding at the venue since a multi-million pound refurbishment. As a result it looked fabulous, with all new fixtures and fittings and the lovely smell of fresh leather from all the furnishings.
The day went perfectly with great weather and fun-loving guests. We had been asked specifically to shoot fun, relaxed pictures with not too much time spent on the ‘formal’ images – this really fitted in with our style of photography and so we were left to be creative without having to intrude. The happy couple also asked for a ‘spot colouring’ effect to be added to a few of the pictures (a black and white picture with an area of colour left to highlight a feature of the image), so you will see we have done this a little more than we normally would.
Thanks Debbie and Rob for letting us share such a fun day and for your kind text message this morning. Enjoy your honeymoon!
A few pictures from the wedding can be seen below set to music.
“Thanks for the pictures, we really like the way they capture all the fun we had throughout the day! Thanks again! Rob and Debbie”
