Sandhole Oak Barn is not just one of our favourite wedding/civil partnership venues it is also just a few hundred yards away from where we are based – so this weekend was a dream for us as we had two jobs at the venue. One was a civil partnership celebration and the other a wedding.
The civil partnership celebration saw Ashely and Martyn ‘tying the knot’ at a fantastic event. Everyone who attended was friendly, fun and out for a good time! Even the weather was great (until late in the afternoon) and so Sandhole Oak Barn was at its best.
This year we have done more civil partnership photography then ever before. With the recent change in the law it is now possible for ‘same sex’ couples to enjoy the same great day as wedding couples. The event is much more ‘free’ in its format, without the rules and regulations that apply to weddings, so the couple are able to specify exactly what words are said and can make the celebration as traditional as a wedding or as modern and contemporary as they wish.
Ashley and Martyn went for a tradition style celebration – each have two ‘best men’ and traditional vows. The day went without a hitch and was a most enjoyable event to photograph.
We rushed away as the guest sat down to eat and processed the pictures immediately, enabling us to upload the pictures to the Internet by 9pm so the evening guests at the event could watch them as they were projected onto a wall later in the evening.
Thank you Ashley and Martyn for such a fun day.
