Some photographers produce great pictures, but require you to pose for several hours in order to get them. We produce incredible images without posing you too much, allowing you to spend more time with your family and friends. It is a skill we have developed over the past 14 years as wedding photographers!

The Wedding of Jennifer and Danny – Worsley Church and Ramada Hotel, Manchester

Last weekend saw us photographing another two weddings. The first took place at the lovely Worlsey Parish church near Manchester and The Ramada Hotel. The church is Worlsey is great as it is situated just across the road from a beautiful canal which is perfect for wedding photographs. The weather was great and the bride and groom looked lovely. The arival at the Ramada Hotel, Manchester was very delayed however due to traffic caused by the ‘Gay Pride’ festival in Manchester city center so unfortunately there wasn’t much time for pictures at the hotel. A few examples from the wedding can be seen below.

Wedding of Jill and Michael Hunt – Red Hall Hotel, Bury

Our wedding on Saturday saw us driving 50 miles up to North Lancashire for the wedding of Jill and Michael Hunt. The wedding venue was new to us so it was an exciting day (we rarely photograph weddings at venues we haven’t been to before).

The day started in traditional style with us photographing the bride at home and then ‘the boys’ in a pub close to the Church ( St Annes in Turton) prior to the church ceremony. Thinks then got interesting as the happy couple wanted some photographs ‘in the hills’ on the way to the hotel, so we followed the wedding car to 2 local beauty spots before arriving at the newly refurbished Red Hall Hotel. (The groom – an avid Liverpool FC fan wasn’t too pleased to be greeted by a picture in reception of the opening ceremony being performed by non other than……. Alex Ferguson!)

My assistant (not the usual Danielle, but the capable Phil) left at 4pm leaving me to stay to photograph the eveing guests arriving. Jill informed me that there was no need for the pictures to be online the following day (a service we usually provide) as they were going away on honeymoon the following morning. This enabled me to do another photography job on the way home – at a charity find-raising event in Cheshire for our troops in Afghanistan (pictures to follow)

Thanks to Jill and Michael for allowing me to share their great day (and giving me the chance to tick off yet another Lancashire wedding venue)

Wedding of Steve and Aundrea at The Chester Grosvenor Hotel

Just once in a while we get to photograph a wedding that is so special we know the memory of it will remain. The wedding of Steve and Aundrea on Sunday was one of those events.

It was a day when everything was perfect – a wedding photographers dream. Steve and Aundrea were such lovely people and made us feel so welcome, the weather was fantastic, the venue a revelation (it now goes into our top 10 wedding venues in Cheshire) and the guests friendly and fun.

After the ceremony the bride and groom had hired an open-top vintage bus to take guests around the city – a really nice, fun touch that filled the time between ceremony and eating perfectly.

I had booked a room in the hotel, so also got enjoy a lovely evening with my wife (who had spent the day shopping in Chester – Ouchh!) in the hotel restaurant and returned home the next morning refreshed and ‘raring to go’ for what is another busy week ahead.

The pictures from the wedding are some of the very best we have ever taken. It is really difficult to choose a few to show here (I will ask the bride and groom if I can post them all).

Wedding of Jenna and Wayne at Mere Court Hotel

Our second wedding of the weekend saw on familiar ground at Mere Court Hotel in Knutsford, Cheshire, this time for the wedding of Jenna and Wayne. I think we have already shot 6 weddings at Mere Court this year and have another 4 booked between now and December – so we feel like ‘one of the staff’!

As is usually the case, we spent a short while with Jenna at her home, photographing her getting ready and then went on to a nearby pub to photograph the boys. We arrived at the pub at 11.30am to find the pub didn’t open until noon so spent half an hour in the field across the road doing some ‘silly’ shots.

The rest of the day went according to plan with Mere Court Hotel looking as good as ever and laying on a wedding like very few other venues can.

Wedding of Yen and Christopher at Manchester Town Hall and Pearl City

Sorry for the delay in getting postings from last weekends weddings onto this blog. Following our engagement photo shoot in Manchester on Thursday we had three weddings over the weekend and have only just finished processing the pictures.

The first wedding was an interesting and technically very difficult one – photographing weddings in the Manchester Town Hall is always a challenge with its dark walls and high ceilings meaning we can’t use flash – but the day started easily with a Chinese tea ceremony at the brides house. This involved the bride and groom presenting tea to the brides family and recieving gifts (usually of gold or money in red envelopes) in return. It was then into the bridal Bentley for the short drive to Manchester Town Hall where the wedding itself took place and the wedding photographs shot.

After the formal part of the day was over it was on to Pearl City Chinese Restaurant in Manchesters China Town for a traditional banquet, second tea ceremony and fire-crackers set off in the street. It was a colourful, noisy and vibrant celebration that was a joy to photograph.

Engagement Photo-shoot of Simon and Helen

Tonight saw us in city center Manchester for the engagement (pre-wedding) photo-shoot of Simon and Helen who are getting married next month at The Inn at Whitewell. We were supposed to do the shoot last month, but on arrival at the venue (Castlefield in Manchester) the heavens opened and put paid to any attempt to photograph outdoors. The signs were not good tonight either. En-route to Manchester the heavens opened once again and more water fell from the sky in 20 minutes than I have ever seen. (Even in Manchester!). On arrival in the City Center however, the rain stopped and the sun even came out for a while! Simon and Helen are both keen cyclists and wanted the shoot to feature not just themselves but also their bikes and dressed ‘the part’ in their T-Mobile and Livestrong cycling outfits. I am really looking forward to shooting their wedding next month – in the meantime below are some of the pictures taken this evening.
