Thanks once again for making us feel so welcome at your fantastic restaurant.

The fire started at 5am yesterday morning – and over 100 firefighters and 20 appliances struggled for many hours to bring the blaze under control.

Weddings can be a stressful time – but it appears the stress was too much for a groom who had an argument with Peckforton Castle over the bill for his wedding and returned to the castle and set light to the drawing room. Police have arrested a man who is being held for questioning.

This will bring great worry for all wedding couples who have booked their wedding at Peckforton Caste in the coming months (including several of our clients)

If anyone who has a wedding booked at the Castle would like help or advice about finding another wedding venue in the Cheshire area then please get in touch. We have extensive knowledge of Cheshire wedding venues and will help in any way we can.

During the 14 years I have been a wedding photographer I have found one of the most awkward moments of any wedding is when the bride tries to get out of the wedding car in her wedding dress. It is not too bad in a Rolls Royce, Bentley or Mercedes S-Class – but so many brides choose older ‘vintage’ cars. They are usually no problem exiting in normal clothing, but can cause great problems when wearing a large wedding dress. What we really need is this! It would make getting out of a wedding car so much more elegant.

I had my camera with me and took a few ‘snaps’ of the bar staff after the pub closed. Here they are!

Here they are! (I’m not going to diversify into pet pictures – I think I’ll stick to brides!)

As well as running Northwest Photography myself and Carol (my wife and business partner) also run The Cheshire Wedding Photographers Dining Club. It is an organisation that brings together local wedding photographers once a month and allows to chat about the wedding photography industry over a meal (and a pint or two!).

This week, the venue chosen for the dinner was The Egerton Arms in Chelford. When we phoned to reserve the table the landlord asked us to bring our cameras as the pub has started offering a plate of mussels and a plate of chips for £5 on Wednesday evenings and he needed a photograph for publicity material and his website.

So…….. on Wednesday evening myself and Andy Cork (a Dining Club member) found ourselves in a pub photographing a plate of mussels! (makes a change from brides)

The landlord is going to choose his favourite picture from the ones below and whoever took it will get a free meal.

Update !

The winning picture is the second one (taken by yours truly at Northwest Photography). The deciding factor was the colour and vibrance of the ‘meat’ in the mussels, and the uncluttered background. (I have to admit the the photograph was heavily ‘photoshoped’ !)
