Northwest Photography Ltd are always looking for new genres of photography to explore and so when the opportunity arose last week to photograph a political meeting we jumped at it.
UKIP are riding high in the opinion polls at the moment and are the only major UK political party to be expanding its membership. As a result of this, new branches are opening across the UK.
Last Thursday the new West Cheshire branch of UKIP was launched and we were there at the meeting to capture images that will be used for UKIP's publicity material and for them to send to news agencies across the UK.
Among those present at the meeting were UKIP's deputy leader Paul Nuttall and UKIP Cheshire Chairman Louise Bours.
With the majority of the population 'turned off' by anything political we tried to make the images as creative as the location and event allowed. Trying to bring something interesting to such an event was certainly a challenge – but it was a suprisingly enjoyable evening and we hope to be photographing on behalf of UKIP many times in the near future.
