The weekend ended for us with a fantastic wedding at the unlikeliest of venues – Stockport Town Hall and Poynton Civic Hall.
I have said many time that great weddings are made by the people. I am sure the bride and groom won’t mind me saying that the venues they chose for their wedding were about as un-photogenic as you could get, but the wedding was great because the people who attended were so so happy and so much fun.
The reception venue, The Civic Hall, Poynton, Cheshire was chosen as this is where the happy couple learn to dance each week – and so it had a special significance, but the day started with the bride at home and then it was on to one of Stockports least attractive pubs, the Town Hall Tavern. It was chosen for its proximity to Stockport Town Hall, and not for its beauty, but we still managed some great shots of the boys enjoying a final pint before the wedding started.
….. and then the rain came!
Boy did it rain.
Once again, out came the umbrellas and we did our best in appalling conditions.
On arrival at Poynton Civic Hall the rain did stop, but the ground was so wet the bride didn’t want to venture more than a few yards from the door for photographs.
Technically a very difficult wedding to photograph, but a most enjoyable one to be part of. Thanks to Sarah-Jane and Chris for allowing me to share it.
Another 3 weddings this coming weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) so am sat here singing “Bring me Sunshine”!
A few pics from the wedding of Sarah-Jane and Chris are below.
