  • Welcome to our Blog – Our life as wedding photographers

This blog gives a more in-depth insight into Northwest Photography and it's innovative work as the North Wests leading wedding photographers.

You will see pictures from recent wedding, album page designs and details of how we create fantatsic wedding pictures that capture the atmosphere of your special day.

Some photographers produce great pictures, but require you to pose for several hours in order to get them.  We produce incredible images  without posing you too much, allowing you to spend more time with your family and friends. It is a skill we have developed over the past 14 years as wedding photographers!

You can read articles in date order below or contact us by clicking the 'contact' option on the menu at the top of any page. We hope you enjoy your visit to our website.

Laura and Toby Whewell – Wedding at Bartle Hall, Preston

For us jobs dont get any easier than this. A wedding at just one venue – Bartle Hall Nr Preston meant we arrived late morning, photographed Laura getting ready, the guys in the bar, the ceremony, the formal pictures and the wedding breakfast, all without having to move our car! My assistant, loves photographing the ‘pre wedding’ preparations with the bride, and todays wedding was perfect for her. She spent an hour with the girls as they painted their nails, applied the make-up and dressed up for the ceremony. Meanwhile I had the tough job of photographing the groom and ushers in the bar! (although we did venture outside for some cheesy ‘Resevoir Dogs’ style Black and White pictures). Laura looked lovely in her fabulous figure-hugging ivory satin dress, complimented by 4 attractive bridesmaids wearing red. And then, just as everything was going so well, the sun came out. Great I hear you say, but for a photographer it means shadows and squinting eyes! The venue is lovely but provides little shade ,so we waited a while for the sun to go behind a cloud before photographing the family groups. What was really nice was the relaxed nature of the formal pictures. We always try and take these in an ‘informal’ style but it really does help to have happy, friendly guests. We bring lollipops for the children (bribery works every time!) but today they were ‘stolen’ by Laura and the bridesmaids – what brilliant pictures we took of them all with red tongues!
