Some photographers produce great pictures, but require you to pose for several hours in order to get them. We produce incredible images without posing you too much, allowing you to spend more time with your family and friends. It is a skill we have developed over the past 14 years as wedding photographers!

Northwest Photography Expands Rapidly

I am sorry for the lack of postings to my blog in recent months – many people have been asking if we are still photographing weddings!!

The answer is YES, we are busier than ever – so busy that we have neglected updating our site.

The reason for this is two pieces of great news for Northwest Photography.

We are proud to announce that we have been confirmed as special project photographers for Bentley Motors in Crewe. A prestigious appointment that means we will be in the Bentley factory every day photographing cars.

Even more exciting is something we have had to keep quiet about for some time. We have been helping Max Spielmann Ltd (the nationwide High St chain of photographers and photo-processors) to role out their new wedding photography service.

This news will come as a shock to many existing wedding photographers, but will be great news for wedding couples. For the first time they will have a trusted, well known company to turn to for their wedding photography. Northwest Photography’s role has been to ensure that the highest possible standards of training and photography are achieved.

Tytherington Club, Cheshire Wedding Photographer

Our third wedding of last week was a great one! We photographed the wedding of Claire and Luke at St Mary's church in Astbury followed by the reception at The Tytherington Club near Macclesfield in Cheshire.

We started the day by visiting the bride as she prepared for the big event. The weather was perfect (for the bride, not for wedding photographers as the sky was clear and the bright sun low in the sky at this time of year) and the atmosphere at the house was relaxed and fun.

I had a new assistant with me. It was the first time that Paul had worked with Northwest Photography – but I need not have worried, his pictures were fantastic. We will be using him a lot more in the future I am sure!

The ceremony at the old and characterful St Mary's Church was like a breath of fresh air. The wedding was taken by a vicar who seemed to actually care about the bride and groom and made the wedding personal and fun.

After the ceremony we headed to The Thytherington Club in Macclesfield, Cheshire for the reception. The club had laid on two golf buggies so the bride and groom could travel the short distance to the lake on 9th hole for some romantic pictures. Of course a lot of fun was had driving the buggies containing a bride and groom!

The Tytherington Club is not a venue we visit often but for wedding photographers it is great. The vast open spaces and beautiful Cheshire countryside make wedding photography very easy.

It was made even easier by the fact we had such a lovely bride and groom and such great guests.

Thank you to Claire and Luke for making us so welcome on your special day.

Manchester Wedding Photographer at The Didsbury House Hotel

Once again I must say sorry for not updating this blog for a while. Even though it is coming to the end of our wedding season we have still been incredibly busy photographing weddings and have only just had chance to sit down to add pictures from a few recent weddings to this blog.

Last weekend we photographed 3 weddings – all in Manchester and Cheshire.

Last Friday we were at The Didsbury House Hotel in Manchester to photograph the wedding of Natalie and Adam.

The wedding was a very unusual one. Firstly, the bride and groom live in Bermuda and so I only had chance to meet with them 'face to face' to discuss their wedding 3 days before the actual event – and secondly the wedding was a VERY informal occasion. There were no speeches, formal meal, cake etc and the bride and groom met for a drink in the bar of The Didsbury House Hotel prior to the ceremony and walked into the wedding together. There were also a LOT of kids. The wedding was fantastic – more like a childrens party than a traditional wedding!

We were asked to photograph in a very informal style (which we love) and not to take many 'staged' pictures.

The Didsbury House Hotel is a great 'boutique' wedding venue and one of Manchester's best. (their sister hotels – Eleven Didsbury Park and The Great John St Hotel are also excellent venues). The staff at the hotel were unobtrusive and efficient and ensured the whole event went without a hitch. It is certainly a wedding venue we would recommend if you are planning a wedding in Manchester.

Wedding photographers can struggle a the hotel if they are not familiar with it however. The rooms are small and intimate and there is almost no outside space for formal wedding photographs – but it has a lot of character and a cosy feel, so a good wedding photographer with good equipment can still achieve some great wedding photographs!

Adlington Hall Wedding Photographer

Last weekend we were photographing a wedding at the lovely Adlington Hall and Hunting Lodge in Cheshire.

The wedding couldn't have been much better. The Cheshire venue was at its best, the weather perfect, the bride and groom happy and in love – everything that makes our job as wedding photographers easy!

The day started at the brides family home near Leek where we photographed her as she prepared for her big day. There was a lovely Subaru Imprezza on the drives (her dads), which pleased my assistant Danielle who is a real 'petrol head'.

The bride didn't take that car to the wedding however, she arrived in a lovely Daimler instead.

It was a long day, we stayed until 9pm – but we got some terrific photographs at was was a great wedding.
